Blackfoot Transportation
The Blackfoot First Nations did a majority of the transportation on foot - since they were a plains tribe. Almost everywhere they went, they walked to. When they occasionally had to cross rivers, they made rafts out of wood. Also, when they had to travel long distances with heavy luggage they had dogs carry some of the luggage. The luggage was put on a travois, which was similar to a dog sled, and they attached that to the dog's back. Later on, dogs were replaced by horses. Then they would set off. They mainly had to move to follow the migration of the buffalo, for they heavily depended on it.
